Watkins visit the Watkins

Ali had a great time visiting her aunts in Combine. It took her a while to warm up to them but Presley was able to win her curious heart. She took a special interest in a book. We plan to make another trip to Combine soon.

Christmas galore

So much has happened over the last few weeks. Mika was in the parade. Ali visited with Santa. Markus celebrates his birthday every year on Christmas Eve. The festivities continue...

Lost cable

As soon as I find the USB cable to the camera I will upload some new pictures. Peps and Lizzy came to visit this past week and it was memorable. They sported a new look :)
Ali screamed on Santa's lap.
Our house will be done in 2 weeks.
I'm loving my 2 week break.
The news keeps growing.

One of the many talents

Clarinet playing is one of the many talents the beans claim. Mika also plays the piano and is a Master Monopoly player. She will perform at the Fine Arts Center in Waxahachie this Thursday 12/18/08 night.

Accion de Gracias

Soon people all over the US will be stuffing their belly and it will look like a bowl of jelly. Will you join this mundial effect? "Not I" said the bean or at least I don't plan on it. No picture this week on the house. They are laying brick and sheet rock has been done. We have gone 3xs this past week (late in the evening) and they have been working hard. We didn't want to feel like stalkers hence no pictures.
On another note, the White Navy bean had an appt. with the GI specialist in Dallas. It was a long haul 1 hour and 40mins. We had to reschedule the appt. for 1:30. We decided to swing by the temple and hang out. It was Ali's first trip. She loved the water fountains and played with the top soil in the flower beds. She was very gentle with the petals.
Her reason for going to the GI ... she refuses to drink leche from a bottle and cup. It turns out she is spoiled. Hmmmm? Maybe I should be a doctor. He said, "She's perfect, there's nothing wrong with her".
Back to the long haul (breaking news received at the GI office), it turns out a lady decided she wasn't grateful for anything including her life and jumped from the Lover's Lane Bridge down onto northbound 75. It's no wonder I had to exit the freeway and then my attempts back on were unsuccessful.
To end... we all have something to be thankful for even for the simple things in life.

Here we are again...

From this angle you can't tell but all the painting has been done. I'm guess this next week will be the brick. We are so way excited.

The big perro

One day Rosie found Clifford in Mika's room. She torn him to shreds. We all know who the big dog is now. If you look closely Chris has a foot brace thanks to Rosie. He stepped into her dish and spun a 360.

Casa dulce casa

After our Halloween feast we headed over to our new home for dinner. Well, we stopped at Sonic for the Brown bag special then to the house.

Give me more

So many choices and so little time to eat it all. The beans went to the square for their Halloween treat. Markus said it was boring this year. However Ali found it exciting.

Construction has begun

The house is blooming.  We should be in around Navidad, so they say.  The kids are excited. Stay tuned.

Need a snake killer?

Abuelita Castaneda called on Markus to kill this nasty predator that she found lurking in her house.  Markus took actions into his own hands.

Playing hooky

Am I a bad example for my children?  I allowed Markus and Mika to miss school to attend the Texas State Fair.  I took the day off.  It was great!
Ali had fun watching all the people and rides.  We had fried oreos, fried snickers, Owens sausage biscuits, and Belgian waffles with strawberries.  The oreos were my favorite.
It was a long day.  It took us 1 1/2 hours to get home; we took the scenic route.  I walked away with a smoked turkey leg souvenir for Chris.

White Navy Bean

This little bean went to the market, this little bean stayed home, this little bean ate a weanie, and this little bean went clap clap all the way home.

She has been bonding with Granny Barnica, eating hot dog weanies, and clapping to the beat of "Papas y Papas para Papa".

She is a quick bean and she's also the boss.  If this bean isn't happy no one is.

Anasazi beans

Mika has started 6th grade; she enjoys school.  She has followed in the steps of her mother bean playing the clarinet as well as her Cannellini bean, Sonia.

Markus is worried about math because he is a little weak in that subject.  He wants to become a scientist and is stressed about not making it to NASA.  He is looking forward to flag football this fall.
